Liza E. Halvorsen has exhibited ceramic sculpture nationally since earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Washington. After work abroad, she earned a Masters of Fine Art at Mills College and began teaching and exhibiting art in the San Francisco Bay Area. Since returning to Seattle, Liza continued working as an art instructor and studio artist.

Liza draws inspiration from the coastal environment, marine life, and water vessels Of the Pacific Northwest which she reduces to sculptural forms. The hand built ceramic forms are carved and painted with underglaze layered with pigments and sealed in archival wax.
